GaugeMath is made by a practitioner who works with measurement, inspection and process quality every day. The calculators exist because the everyday ones were either locked inside expensive software or hidden in spreadsheets nobody could check.

How the tools are checked

Every calculator is tested against values published in the standard it implements before it goes online. The uncertainty budget, for example, reproduces the coverage factors of GUM Table G.2 and EA-4/02 Table E.1. The tests are part of the site’s source and run on every change.
